If something we published speaks to you or your community, you're welcome to repost or reprint it for free under a Creative Commons CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license. We just ask that you follow the simple guidelines below. Here's what we ask:

• Every repost needs a credit line at the top of the story that reads: This story [LINK to original story URL] was produced by The VP Chicago, an independent, community-centered newsroom covering Chicago's South Side and South suburbs.
• The author's name needs to stay at the top too: "By [Author Name], The VP Chicago."
• You don't own the copyright to our work. Please don't sell it, syndicate it, or push it to third-party platforms like Apple News, Yahoo News, or SmartNews without talking to us first.
• You can run our stories alongside standard auto-generated ads, but please don't have anyone actively selling ads against our work.
• Don't change our stories beyond small updates like swapping "today" for an actual date.
• Anything marked "exclusive" is not covered under this license. Please get in touch with us via email at contact@thevpchicago if you want to talk more about this.
• If you use canonical links, make sure The VP Chicago is credited as the original source.
